TheTranslation Slam (part of the Bookworm Literature Festival and Jue music and art festival) exploits the issues of translation by pitting two translators against each other to decipher a difficult Chinese text and recreate it in English. The event is wonderfully unique, and wholly appropriate for a city like Beijing where countless people are caught between the worlds of Mandarin and English every day.

The FIT Seventh Asian Translators’ Forum will be held in Penang, Malaysia, in 2013.

This conference aims to study the role played by translation in the modernization process of the East Asian countries in the 19th and early 20th century, a project at the Research Centre for Translation (RCT), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, supported by the University’s Focused Investment Scheme and the RCT Research Programme Fund.

With the aim to encourage young scholars to actively participate in Chinese translation studies and strengthen academic exchange, the Research Centre for Translation (RCT) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong has organized a biennial Young Researchers' Conference on Chinese Translation Studies since 2004.

The National Research Center of Overseas Sinology, Beijing Foreign Studies University, will host an international conference entitled Chinese Classics in Global Context. This conference, which will be held on 7-9 December 2012 at Beijing Foreign Studies University in Beijing, China.
